Recently, Premier Gordon Campbell was nominated for the title of "Canada's Nation Builder" by the Globe & Mail. The Globe & Mail has asked for comments on its nominations and I have submitted the following comment on the Premier's nomination:
Premier Campbell has done all Canadians proud by showing strong leadership on the environment and leading the entire country in the fight against climate change. The Premier has improved relations with the Asia Pacific by aggressively pursuing and securing new trading partners for our economy. To submit your comments to the Globe & Mail click here.
Speaking of economy, this is the Premier who has rebuilt BC's economy to the strongest in Canada after it was devastated by years of NDP mismanagement in the 1990s.
Gordon Campbell has taken the interest of Canada's First Nations to heart, signing the historic Tsawwassen Treaty and healing a broken relationship. These are the actions of a visionary leader determined to rebuild British Columbia and build an even stronger Canada.
Premier Gordon Campbell has led this BC on a great road of change, promoting the Asia Pacific, protecting the environment, and reaching out to First Nations. The Premier's actions have provided great leadership for BC and for Canada - Gordon Campbell deserves to be recognized as Canada's Nation Builder for 2007.
